Coronavirus and Lockdown- Different for different People

I have written my views in detail about the ongoing situation of this pandemic and I still stand firm to my initial views. Though I still want to talk a lot about it but I feel at this moment, people won't take my words objectively so I will keep my words until all this is over.

However, the amount of Hypocrisy is at peak as usual. People are bashing, hurling abuse, calling others idiots etc. Everyone feel like having the best of knowledge and almost everyone expect others to sacrifice and exercise precautions. How many of us have given up our work, our businesses even if the government has allowed? Everyone believe that their work, their business is essential and should be allowed to open and others should stay at home.

And everyone has their preferences. A salon might be not essential for a person simply because he is not interested in it but the same person will be hoping the restaurants to open because he loves food and he won't have any problem going to one. There is an equal chance of catching the virus in a salon and a restaurant. But a person sitting at a salon will be cursing the one sitting at a restaurant and vice versa.

I was astonished to see stage artists who every night are part of the late night comedy shows and mock people in the name of comedy and how their anchors vigorously warn and yell at public to stay at home and take precautions and the same artists were protesting the other day demanding government to open up theaters.

Now don't just unleash on me subjectively. I know there are people attached to media and arts industry who live on a tipping point but so do most of others. How many of us are privileged enough to have secure jobs and bank accounts; how many of us have a luxury of our private rooms with unlimited access to internet and Netflix; how many of us are privileged enough to be living in a less dense environment where we can easily step out of home and go for a walk to ease mental anxiety without worrying about social distancing? How many of us are stable enough to buy groceries from super stores and online portals without worrying about prices? How many of us are privileged enough to have separate transportation for the entire family? How many could afford to go to a high end restaurant to reserve a separate table?

It's easy to yell at people when your life is not much disturbed; when comfort is still at your disposal; when you are still planning your future adventures.

Yes the virus exist and we are now told to live with it - just like thousands of other diseases. Not everyone has the luxury and mental peace to exercise caution; if you are, good for you and practice it on your own but stop humiliating other people.

Kuwait having a tiny population- less than Lahore city - is reporting an average of 1000 cases a day; despite being in strict lockdown for last three months and complete curfew was imposed since last 20 days and still cases spiked.

Even the experts are now saying that almost everyone of us is gonna have this virus at some stage unless a miracle happens. More than precautions, we have to calm our nerves. Yes I know there exist very careless people but you can't do anything about them. Getting hyped for them is a loss to your mental peace, not them.

Remember, it's not the snake's venom that kills you, it's the fear.

Don't let the fear control you; be in charge of your conscious.

And above all, have faith in Almighty. You must have heard this Hadith where a man asks Prophet PBUH that whether he should leave his camel untied and have Tawakkul in Allah or shall he tie the camel and then have tawakkul. Prophet PBUH replied: Tie the camel and then leave it on Allah.

Now, there are people who don't have any resource to tie the camel so all their hope is on Allah. And then there are people who have abundance of resources; they can tie the camel  from all the sides, have him placed in a secure barn under a 24 hours digital surveillance on top of heavy armed guards. It all depends on what you have on your disposal.

But even then, there is a possibility that the untied camel could be more secure than the one under the best protection. I am not saying to not utilize the resources Allah blessed you with, but don't rely entirely on objects, have stronger faith in the Higher Power. Tie the camel and be in peace by having faith in Allah. Don't go over the board.

You could be protecting yourself in a confined place and yet your death would lead you to the ill-fated flight that was supposed to crash.
