DEAR LADIES - HARASSMENT WILL NEVER STOP – AND THAT’s BECAUSE OF YOU

Before coming to any conclusion after just reading the title; keep patience and read till the end. I am neither victim blaming nor justifying men harassing women.

The type of harassment in which a woman is ridiculed or made fun of; like street abusing or catcalling; is not part of this article. Of course, there is absolutely no justification for such wicked acts.

Now, the other common harassment is where a man tries to get closer; tries to touch you; if he is a driver, he will be looking from the rare view mirror and countless other means of harassment. First of all, let me be very clear that Alhamdulillah, I have never ever done any of such evil acts. But what I am trying to explain here is that TAALI AIK HATH SE NHI BAJTI. Now before you get angry and start bashing me, read till the end and try to understand the point. I will share with you real life examples.

About 10 years ago, I had a friend in my neighborhood. One day, there was a carnival and we both went there. He saw a girl and wanted her number. He chased her for so long. He was kind of harassing her. The girl clearly was not interested – at least it seemed like – but the guy kept on following and asking for number. I still remember the look on girl’s face; she seemed so annoyed. Even I was getting angry but couldn’t do anything.

A few days or a couple of weeks later – I don’t remember exactly – I went to the guy’s shop. He was talking to a girl on his phone and he put it on speaker so I can listen too. Guys always do this; they will let their friends listen to the girl while talking on phone just to show off and have fun; which I personally find so disgusting. Anyways, so he put up on speaker to let me know about his latest hunt. While I am sitting there, the girl’s brother shows up with home cooked food for the guy.

Do you know who the girl was on the phone? The same girl from the carnival. Yes, the same girl who was being harassed and seemed so annoyed at the moment.

Another friend of mine, who is my school friend, is a playboy. Ever since school, every girl in our class knew about him that he is a playboy. He actually had couple of affairs inside school itself. And then there was me, the type of guy girls dream of but never want. The playboy is always popular. Anyways, I have no regrets Alhamdulillah. What I am telling is that even now, more than 10 years later, girls will contact this playboy guy but they never contacted me. I am not jealous, I don’t care about them. But what I am trying to tell is that no matter how shareef I was, no girl wanted me because guys like me are NO FUN. Girls will purposely follow the guy who they know is not sincere. MATERIALISM.

These are just couple of examples; I have seen a lot more. I used to get angry at men doing such cheap acts but I was a fool because they actually succeed.

P.S Not all my friends are jerks. I have some of the SHAREEFEST friends too.

All these acts of harassment work for men. They get what they want. If a man harassed 10 women in a day, 8 of them slapped him but 2 gave their numbers and got connected – In other words PHANS GAYI- It’s a win win situation for the guy. Those 8 slaps won’t matter to him. He achieved his goal for the day and will repeat the same next day.

The same LARKI PHASAO cum HARASSMENT tactics are taught in movies and dramas, even songs. The latest hit of Bilal Saeed, isn’t it technically harassment? A guy intentionally waits for a girl to pass by so he can take a good look and even wants to CLIMB HER WALLS. Isn’t it harassment? Sorry to say, if you don’t like a boy, its harassment but if you do, it’s flirting. So you are fueling men. They will keep doing it. Because no matter how many girls reject, there will be many who will complete his hunt to boost his confidence.

Again, I am not in favor of such cheap acts. But it is a bitter truth, it happens and it will keep happening. Be it school, office or any other place; the scheme works for the guys. It’s like an art; those guys who are beginners will fall in category of harassers but those who have mastered the art, get it all the time. Because when the same cheap acts are done in materialistic ways and the same cheap dialogues are said in ENGLISH; they are no longer harassment.

Then there are women who let men use them to get things done. The most popular is Film industry. We have heard so many stories in the past how men took advantage of actresses to offer them roles. Well, I am not defending those men; but those actresses had choice, a role in a movie or dignity.

I know there will be people bashing me or even mocking me as if I am jealous or a loser who is whining just because he couldn’t hunt. Well, I don’t want to hunt. GOOD WOMEN ARE FOR GOOD MEN, I follow this rule.

Ladies, I always emphasize that don’t give up your dignity for such small things like a guy having a car or money or branded clothes. You are much more valuable than that. Your war against harassment is not just against Men, you have to fight Women too. I have said it couple of times that we can’t progress until we eliminate the culprits in our own clans.

Be it men or women, keep your honors intact. Allah has commanded both of you to safeguard your chaste.
