The Universe is merely a Box
Sometimes, when I am sitting outside in dark, I look up at
the sky and get this strange feeling of our existence. The universe is huge
compared to us; but whenever I look up at the sky, I feel like we are just
trapped inside a tiny box. A place where we are sent to be tested; a trial of
our Imaan.
Have you seen the movie MAZE RUNNER?
The existence of the world is similar to what is shown in
that movie; except minus the cruelty.
I was listening to Dr. Israr Ahmed; he explained that this
is not our first life; we all have total of three lives. The first life was
when our soul was created and Allah took an oath from all of us, "Do you believe I am your God?" And we all replied, "Yes our Lord". Then
Allah made us all sleep; that was our first life.
It was easy to acknowledge Allah as our Lord when He was
visible and we weren't given any trial to prove our loyalty. So Allah gave us
this second life in a shape of human beings and wiped out our memory. This life
is basically the test of our oath that we gave to Allah when He created us.
This is the real test when we can't see Allah directly but He is visible
through His miracles on earth. It was easy to acknowledge Allah without
distraction, now is the real test with all these glitters of the world.
Just like an examination hall, once the time is up, our
second life will come to an end too and then we will be risen for the final
time for an eternal life; but the type of eternal life we get will be dependent
on our grades that we achieved in this examination hall.
We all need to ponder; have we stood up to our oath?
It's just like you have a friend who is so close to you; you
two always hang around, you never have doubts for his loyalty but the real test
would be when a third more influential person gets involved.
I am not a regressive person but all this progress of the
world doesn't amaze me much because I don't see these inventions as way
forward; in fact, I feel these inventions are taking us towards the end. Look
around you, how the progress has taken us away from our oath.
The world is a temporary place; we were never meant to
reshape it for our convenience. Again, I am not saying that we shouldn't be
progressing; but progress should have been for needs, not luxuries.
We are so after inventions and careers that we have
forgotten the real meaning of our existence. How ironic, the more we find out
the miracles of Allah, instead of getting closer to Him, we get away from Him.
Family systems are dying, everyone is so busy stacking up
money and resources for this temporary place. Empathy, affection, compassion in
our hearts is replaced by greed.
We are so busy building our temporary place, how much are we
preparing to build our eternal home?
